In Geography lessons at Fairley House, we provide children with the opportunity to explore and investigate the physical and human world around them. We discover how the earth changes over time and look at how human interaction and settlement affects the natural environment. We foster the core values of environmental awareness through a multi-sensory, cross-curricular approach which makes logical links between other areas of their learning, such as Science, History, Music or Art.

In developing various skills, such as how to reference a place in an atlas, understand directions of the compass or using an online search engine, children practise skills which they can develop and use in the outside world, while also gaining an awareness of their location, time and scale in a global context.
