Fairley House Acquires New Building

Fairley House, London's leading school for the education of pupils with specific learning difficulties, dyslexia and dyspraxia, is looking forward to its 30th birthday celebrations next year with an ambitious expansion of its premises. The school, whose Junior Department is based in Lambeth Road, has procured the impressive four storey building immediately adjacent to its current site with the intention of bringing the new building into use in September 2011

The expanded site will offer an exceptional hall suitable for many uses, extensive classroom provision and a range of other educational facilities such as a music room, and art room and a science laboratory. The Junior Department, which currently stops at Year 4, will from September also include Year 5, who previously had transferred to the Causton Street site. The Senior Department caters for children up to the end of Year 9.

Ms Jackie Murray, Principal of Fairley House, said, ‘Our charity is committed to transforming the lives of children with specific learning difficulties, helping them to maximise their potential and giving hope to their families. The acquisition of this beautiful new building will allow us to offer the Fairley House experience to even more children. It will also help us to meet the long term goals of the charity to become an assessment centre, expand our teaching training and conduct research'.
