At Fairley House we look to instil the confidence to try something new. On the games field we look to give the pupils a chance to try different sports and activities. There is an emphasis on teamwork, fair play friendship and competition. Sport can be an integral part of a pupils’ development and an area where they excel, it is therefore vital that we provide a platform where pupils can further develop these skills.

Our sport is taught by a dedicated team of teachers who use their knowledge and understanding of the pupils to enhance the pupils’ outcomes. Games is approached in the same way as lessons with multi-sensory teaching being at the very forefront of the session making every session enjoyable and interesting.

Occupational Theory is intertwined within both Games and Physical Education with individual lessons given for pupils is required. Physical Education also gives pupils the chance to develop and learn news skills that they will be able to introduce into their games lessons. Differentiation is seen as a vital part of these lessons giving both the interested sportsperson an opportunity to excel and the less keen participant a chance to try and grow in confidence with pupils of a similar ability.

A healthy body leads to an inquisitive mind, Games and PE is aimed to develop this and make pupils happier in themselves, with their work and their surroundings.
