GOVERNORS AT FAIRLEY HOUSE SCHOOL
CHAIR: ELIZABETH MORRELL
A former FHS parent, Elizabeth has been on the board since 1994. Her son Thomas attended Fairley House from 1991-1994 and is currently working in Television. She has served on the Finance Committee and was Deputy Chair, before becoming Chair in September 2007. She runs a travel business specialising in trips to China.
CHAIR OF FINANCE: ANNE RYAN
Anne is a former FHS parent who joined the board in 2006. Anne is an Associate of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants and was previously financial controller in a large firm. Not only does she devote a great deal of energy to FHS but she also finds time to serve on the board of a charity for deaf people with mental health problems.
JONATHAN BROUGH
Jonathan has been an enthusiastic member of the board since 2006. He is head of the Preparatory School at the City of London School for Girls in the Barbican. He has worked in the field of education since 1989 and completed his initial teacher training at the University of Cambridge before gaining the National Professional Qualification for Headship through the National College of School Leadership. He is also a team inspector for the Independent Schools Inspectorate and lives in Central London. Jonathan advises the board on educational matters.
JEREMY EDWARDS
Jeremy Edwards has been involved in education for 30 years and is currently Master (Headmaster) of Westminster Under School, the junior part of Westminster School, which is located very close to Fairley House in Vincent Square. He studied English at London University where he also completed a PGCE and an MA in Educational Management. He was Deputy Head at Emanuel School for 5 years before his appointment to Westminster in 2000. He is married with three teenage children and lives in south London. Jeremy advises the board on educational matters.
DIANA HAMILTON-FAIRLEY FRCOG, MD
Diana joined the board in 2006 and is the eldest daughter of the School's founder. Following in the family tradition she studied medicine at University College London and is an eminent obstetrician and gynaecologist at Guys and St. Thomas' Hospital and Deputy Medical Director of the Trust. Her experience of the National Health Service is invaluable and she is the governor with special responsibility for Child Protection Matters. Diana lives in Dulwich.
PHILIPPA HUSTON
Philippa joined the board in September 2008 as an ex-parent of the school, her son James had just left to attend Brandeston Hall prep in Suffolk, on the East coast. She began her career in Sales and Marketing for Shell UK but eventually gave up to support her husband's banking career and bring up their 3 sons, all of whom have differing degrees of dyslexia. She has many years of experience of running school PAs overseas and was chair of the FHS Parents' Association from 2007-2008. Philippa also played an active role in developing the school strategic plan. Her skills involve marketing and communications.
CARON KRIEGER
Caron joined our board in 2004, she has three sons two of whom were at Fairley House. Of these her eldest son is now studying Biochemistry at Imperial College and the second son is taking his A-levels. Before she had children Caron was a lawyer specialising in Media. She has been particularly involved in the very important aspects of governance and the ever-changing regulatory environment
