Special Events/Announcements

We are sad to announce the death of the second Principal of Fairley House School, Mrs Patience Thomson.

Happy New Year!

It is with huge disappointment that I write to inform you that following Government guidance the school is returning to Online Learning once again. We will follow the same successful structure as last time. We will follow your child’s timetable as normal and teach directly via TEAMs. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact Christine or myself. Stay safe and I look forward to seeing you all very soon.

Assessments

Prospective children are offered a three-day visit to the school, which enables the child, the parents and school to be secure in knowing that the placement is appropriate. During the visit a team consisting of an Educational Psychologist, Speech and Language Therapist and Occupational Therapist will conduct formal assessments in addition to informal teacher observations.

The child joins a class for three days and takes part in a normal school day, giving them the opportunity to see if they enjoy coming to the school.  They should wear their own school uniform or comfortable clothing.  Lunch and snacks are provided.

A case conference with the parents is then held at the end of the two day visit to discuss the holistic profile of the child’s strengths and needs.  This usually lasts for about 45 minutes.
